A recent study found that 50% of students use YouTube as a tool for learning. Librarians celebrate the power of books, media and technology, but some have overlooked YouTube as a tool for teaching and learning, for creative expression, for research, and even as a source of recommendations for pleasure reading. Reflect on your complex love-hate film/media discussion clubs, BookTubers, virtual author visits, and other uses of audiovisual media can help to deepen your school library learning community.
