Today’s youth face tough choices; some may even have tough lives. Grief. Trauma. Shame. These themes are things that touch every preteen and teen’s life. But they are also things that can be difficult to talk about and to write about. The authors in this panel deliberately handle tough topics with care and consideration. Join the discussion on why and how to use books in an effort to reach kids who are dealing with issues that are often kept in the dark, and that these books shine a light on.
